Well, after dozens of nights of throwing tired boys in bed (thank you Kristin!) and dragging tired Annie around to look at 'just a few more' houses, one failed attempt at a house we liked, a few tears, some laughter, several new ideas for 'dos and don'ts' with interior decorating, and the beginnings of a list as to what our dream house will one day be...
WE FOUND A HOUSE!!!
We've been searching for a while now...for one month if you count how long we've been out here looking...for four months if you count how long we've been checking craigslist several times a day to see if anyone has posted something new.
So, with all this looking (hundreds of homes online and dozens in person), I had come to the conclusion that we were never going to find a house that was perfect. Every single one had something(s) good and something(s) bad about it. We would just have to choose the good we wanted the most and the bad we were willing to live with.
Although I still think there is a lot of truth to that conclusion of mine, we must have found a good one, because I'm having a hard time coming up with too many things to put on the list of something(s) bad. That must be a good sign, right?
We are very excited, not only that the search is over, but also for the chance to begin our new adventure out here, to settle into a new routine (or I'd be happy to just get back to our old one again!), to make new friends, to set up house (although I must admit that this opportunity has me both very excited and extremely overwhelmed all at the same time!), and just to have our own home again.
I must take a moment to express my extreme gratitude to my parents and the Davenports for giving us a home to call our own for the three months we have been in between. I seriously don't know how we would have survived without your kindness and overwhelming generosity! You not only put us up, but gave us a home where we truly felt welcome and happy. We will always be grateful that you made this difficult transition time so much more easy and enjoyable for us.
And another huge thank you to the MANY people that helped us move. We sure have a long list. We didn't exactly just move from one house to another the way most people seem to...first out of our house in MD, then into a storage unit in UT, then out of a storage unit, and into our new home here. (Did I mention that we just moved in last night? And we just found the house last week, so that might explain a little bit the craziness that's been our life lately.) That was an awful lot of people that ended up carrying an awful lot of boxes and furniture an awful lot of times, for some of you poor people it was many times! (In case you can't tell, I happen to feel right now that moving is just AWFUL!) We really feel grateful for the help and support that so many family and friends have given us.
So...I do intend to finish writing about our trip out here, even though it's been a month since we arrived, if for nothing else, just to show you some of the pictures from our drive. But, since I now have several boxes to unpack, I won't make any promises as to how soon I'll manage to post those.
Goodnight!

Can't wait to see the place, Bec. :) I'm glad you feel so good about it! I'm sure it's awesome. It was fun to hang out for a little bit on Tuesday before and after MOVING MANIA! Can't wait to see you guys this weekend--and mostly, next week at DEER VALLEY!! (If I can just suffer through one more week of work!)
Glad that you guys found a place. Good luck with getting settled. So great that you had so many people to help you, wish we could help too.
Hey Becca! I love reading your blog, it's so cute. I have to tell you, I'm pretty sad that as soon as I move out of Utah, you move in. I would pay you seriously good money to be my doula next time I get preggo. I'm glad you were able to find a house! Hope all goes well for you as you settle in!
How exciting! I hope that you guys are loving it and are getting all moved in. I'm dying to see what it looks like. We should play soon. Love you guys
How fun! I'm excited you guys found a place, that's great!!! Good luck with all of the unpacking, it will feel so nice when everything is in it's right spot and you can actually find things again. I can't wait to see pictures sometime (when all of the boxes are unpacked:) Hope to see you soon :)
Congratulations. When are you going to post some pictures of it? It would be fun to see it!!
Glad to hear your search is over. Chris and I are excited to see pictures and read more. If possible, take unpacking one day at a time, I am sure it is overwhelming. Thinking of you!
Congratulations! That is so exciting! I just spent all morning painting baseboards that my husband put in last night. I realized that you can't have it all! I went back and forth about what was important to me but it is amazing that anywhere becomes home once your in. I can't wait to see you on my next visit!
