Guilt-free Blogging

I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel a little guilty when spending time blogging. There is just SO much to do in life, and I haven't been able to come to the conclusion that blogging, as much as I enjoy it, is the best way to spend that time. Well, I came across something this morning that made me feel a little better about the time I have spent in this endeavor. Blogging really can be a way to record your family history, scrapbook your children's lives, leave something behind for posterity...that's all worthwhile, right?

So check out Scrapbook Blogger.

I have no idea how easy or difficult this option is, or how well it works. Obviously it's a new company and I am sure they still have some things to work out. But the prices seem very reasonable to me, and there is a blog that allows users to ask any questions they have, which seems like a great help. If anyone has heard of it before, please speak up. I'd also love to hear about other options for saving your blog-work (don't you just love all the words you can make up with the made up word blog?!). Karin...I'm thinking of you specifically, I know you've done some research in this area, so please share!

Still doesn't excuse all the time I want to spend reading other people's blogs, but that's something to work on another day! :) (ALTHOUGH...I did find out about scrapbook blogger from another blog!)

Have a great weekend! And just because I haven't seen or said this in so long, and I've been reminiscing about my youth since my post about Sarah, TGIF! Wow, that just made me feel like I was in junior high again!

You can turn your blog into a book here:

I really need to do something like this because I rarely write in my journal but I do keep my blog fairly updated.

I was going to suggest blurb as well! I think that might be our Anniversary present this year (we always pick one together). I blog to journal. Otherwise, no record! :(

Are you guys going to go see CJane next Saturday at the Mall? I'm thinking of going...

Thanks for the blurb info girls. I'll have to check that out.

Rosie, just read about the book release thing. Sounds fun. I'll have to check the calendar, but maybe. Wanna go together if I can? There's also a run that same morning for Nie...I was thinking of doing that. I need something to get me out the door for a run now that I'm pulling hats and gloves out of storage in the dark morning hours!

Ohh, I'm gonna have to go check out the scrapbook blogging. My other research all lead to Blurb as well. As far as my personal experience? uh, well, I've bee too busy posting (and reading other's) to actually take action. Soon, though, soon! And you better believe i WILL let you know what site I use, when I do!

I downloaded the program from blogger and have been putting my book together. It would have been a lot easier if I wouldn't have resized my pictures to low resolution when I put them on my blog! Anyway, I have a couple of friends who did the blog books and then posted about them. Here are the links if you want to see the finished project! I totally agree though, this is the reason I blog. I have never had a journal consistently until now. The other day I was looking back at some of my first posts, and I was reading things about my family that I had already forgotten about. It makes me so excited that I have these memories forever now! Anyway, here are the links to my friends blogs with the pictures of their blog books :o)

I'd love to go together to the book release if we could. Ethan's birthday party is that day, and we have a piano recital at my mom's house, hopefully I can squeeze it in!
