In search of a blockbuster...

Our friends gave us a really fun gift for Christmas, a 3 month subscription to Blockbuster.com. I love the convenience of a movie showing up at your doorstep and only needing to drop it in the mailbox when you're done. The only problem is, we don't know what movies to rent. We haven't really seen much of anything since going out to a movie when you have 3 kids seems to us an almost impossible feat, and we don't really know what there is to see since we don't have tv (which equals not seeing any previews). I happen to have a really bad streak with the movies I pick, as my family will not hesitate to tell you, so I'm turning to all of you for help. Any suggestions of great movies that are out on DVD? (I happen to be looking for a great romantic comedy, but since Andrew isn't, we'll take recommendations from pretty much any genre!)

We got a Netflix subscription, and we've enjoyed getting all the movies that you see in the Deseret Book add we get in the mail. Church Ball, Mobsters and Mormon, Anxiously Engaged, Take a Chance, Saints and Soldiers, The Dance, Everything She Wants...

So I'm not really sure what type of movies you guys like, but here are some great ones that me and Josh love :o) First on the list would have to be the new Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightly. We bought it and watch it at least once or twice a month. It's a great Sunday movie and Felicity even loves it. A good romantic comedy that comes out next week I think is No Reservations. That was a really good clean one also. Me and Josh also liked Stardust with Michelle Pfeifer. If you liked 'The Princess Bride' it's along those same lines. For more of an action movie Josh and I both really liked the new 'Live Free or Die Hard' movie with Bruce Willis. I'm not usually a fan of those types of movies, but that was non stop action and was a really good one! I know they have tv shows you can rent too. If you haven't watched the show LOST, you should rent season one and go from there. Both Josh and I love it. Anyway, those are probably enough to get you started! I'm a total movie junky and have lots of other choices too if you are interested! Here are a few others for you: Pursuit of Happyness, The Devil Wears Prada, Just like Heaven, National Treasure, Stranger than Fiction, Finding Neverland, Runaway Bride...let me know if you need more!

I wish I had some type of recommendation! I'll have to check back and see what people suggest- I'm curious, too! I usually just call Rob, but he's realizing just how pricey entertainment is, now that he's paying for 2 and isn't as up to speed with new releases;) I read the previous comment and have to second Nstional Treasure- and I actually liked Devil Wears Prada, too. Let us know if you find a good one!

You're cute! I'll have to ask Eric, he is the movie expert in our house. I'll see a movie and then the next day I already forgot what it was called and what it was about :)

My tastes in movies are usually more of the "based on a true story, champions overcoming challenges" etc. So I really like Facing the Giants (that one esp b/c of our personal situation), Glory Road, Remember the Titans, Miracle, The Pursuit of Happyness, Coach Carter (edited), Rudy, Mr. Hollands Opus, Simon Birch, Stand and Deliver, To Sir with Love, Life is Beautiful -(tear jerker, funny, love story etc) Ratatouille, Meet the Robinsons, The Rookie, Seabiscuit, That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure that could keep you busy for a while. :D

A big thank you to everyone for your suggestions. We've added a bunch of movies to our list and we'll see how many we get through. If you think of any others, feel free to let us know!
